Welcome to the School assemblies page!
It is a legal requirement to observe a daily collective act of worship. This must be wholly or mainly Christian in character. At Rosetta, we have a whole school assembly at the start of every half term. This assembly is led by the Headteacher, Mr Fanthorpe. We also hold themed assemblies every Wednesday in Key Stages 1 and 2. Achievement assembly is every Friday in Key Stage 1 and every other Friday in Key stage 2. This is a session where we celebrate good work, improved effort or improved behaviour. These assemblies last for about 20 minutes. They may involve drama, creating a poem, sharing a story, music, dance, use of visual aids, artefacts or a general discussion.
We also hold Collective Worship every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday within classes. Assemblies at Rosetta, help to promote moral and social development. Children are also encouraged to take on responsibilities and enjoy school life. During assemblies children engage in discussions about various themes. These themes are introduced at the begining of the week and again shared within the phase assemblies.
There is a time for reflection during assembly. This is time when children reflect on thoughts, feelings and their own beliefs. It also allows children to reflect on the theme introduced and how they can apply it to their life at school. These themes are linked with the school aims and rules. For example, this week we are focusing on Empathy and children will be reflecting on how to show empathy towards others.
Other themes for the term are attached below.
